Halloween Tag Tutorial

This is a great tutorial that shows you how to create a background using distress inks and rubber stamps.  In this case, Tera Callihan shows us how to spook it up.  I love she used the skeleton torso on these grungy tags, and I'm happy to share Tera's tutorial with you.

Stamps Used:

The Skeleton Torso Stamp, Profit and Loss Sheet, Large Handwriting, and the Anatomical Heart

I started with some patterned scrapbook paper for a nice base. (this paper was by prima - a fairy paper set?)

Start by inking your tags with Distress ink in Wild Honey

Next, using distress ink in vintage photo, stamp the the large handwriting on the background.

Now for contrast, use the distress ink in dusty concord and stamp the numbers from the profit and loss stamp.

Now flick some water drops to distress your tag.

Ok, now we're back to the dusty concord to distress around the edges of your tag.

Next, using Black VersaFine ink, stamp your skeleton torso in the center of the tag, then rough up/distress the edges of your tag to give it a tattered look.

Now, let's put the tag together…

I added some tiny tags (cut from scrapbook paper) and a tiny paper clip.  I also added a strip to wash tape on the side.

Ok, now ink up your ribbon using the same colors then dry.  Tie the tag and add some charms.

In the next post, I will share with you how Tera made a the little plastic charm with the anatomical heart stamp.  So, if you're interested, come back tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by - I hope you enjoyed this rubber stamping tutorial.
